STEEL PANIC ROOM DOORS - STEEL SAFE ROOM DOORS

We live in a time where we seriously need to make considerations for our safety and security as there are many threats that we are faced with, home invasions, robberies, riots and fire are all to common and can become a reality that threaten us and those that we love and care for.

For these reasons the panic room door, also know as a safe room door has been developed, in order to provide a protective barrier to a room that offers real protection in more than one way.

Much more than just a security door, panic doors offer protection for:
- Burglar Resistance
- Fire and Smoke Protection
- Bullet Resistance

There is no such thing as bullet proof, burglar proof or fire proof. Anything can be destroyed if given enough time and resources.
What we do have is different levels of protection that will protect you for certain periods of time and from different levels of threats, be it a home invasion, robbery, riot or fire and therefore we have protection for a period until the threat either gives up and goes away or help arrives.

The fact that the doors are made from steel on it's own already provide assurance of a strong and secure door, in addition there are features and materials added to the door that will offer even more protection and for a longer period of time.

BURGLAR RESISTANCE
- Burglar resistance is offered in certified classes RC1, RC2, RC3 and RC4
- These classes offer protection for varied time periods according to the tools a highly experienced burglar is equipped with.
- There are many extras that can be added to protect a door from a burglar and it goes beyond strong locks, as a start multi point locks are added, then there are dog bolts that keep the door in place even if the hinges have been attacked, the lock cylinder is also given protection to prevent, anti twist cages protect the lock striker plates where the lock bolt sits. Security glass or steel plates are also added on the higher ratings.

BULLET RESISTANCE
- Bullet resistance is offered in certified classes, FB1, FB2, FB3, FB4, FB5 and FB6. Other classes are also known as G1, G2 and G3
- The door can be fitted with ballistic glass or armoured steel to offer ballistic protection.
- The ballistic glass and armoured steel used is certified according to the protection level offered.
- The higher the rating the thicker the glass and the steel will be.
- The lower levels offer protection from various hand guns, whilst the higher class offer protection from assault rifles.

FIRE AND SMOKE PROTECTION
- Fire protection is offered in various classes for 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes and 120 minutes
- There is further protection considered for the stability of the door and impact resistance, with a steel door this is already a given as steel is non combustible, can handle very high temperatures and remain stable.
- Insulation and Radiation protection can be added to prevent heat from passing through the door for specified times.

AESTHETICS
With all this functionality one would expect the door to have a cold, hard industrial look but this is not the case, whilst there are limits to what the door can look like so as not to compromise the functions, it can be made in a large number of colours and can also have various finished inserted like wood, veneers and other materials to give the door good aesthetics. The result is a fully functional panic door offering protection that looks beautiful.
